  • Kimberly Sprayberry, DVM, Dipl. ACVIM, is the presenter of the session and an internist with Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, Ky. She offers special insight from the often-hectic front lines of one of the world's busiest equine intensive care medical facilities. She will help you understand how to prepare your mare for foaling, the stages of labor, what can go wrong with the foal, and how you and your veterinarian can work together to avoid these problems.

She often speaks about Intervet's Foal Care Program, which is an online service designed to take a horse owner through the entire foaling process, beginning with the health of the mare and continuing through the first year of the foal's life. The Intervet Foal Care program includes interactive online tools for tracking growth and a foal's medical history, as well as information on how to feed, vaccinate, and deworm the foal.
