I've never given pain meds to any horse I've gelded, and I've gelded all ages--from sucklings to a 14 year old stallion.

Well I usually give a couple days of Banamine Paste just because, I am sure there has to be a little pain involved and also banamine is a "anti-inflammatory"........I don't overdue it for sure, just a few days to ease.......

My gelded baby this year was just under 3 months. Had too! Attitude!!!!!

We did give him 1/2 cc banamine 2 days. He was pretty sore and swollen and didn't want to move much.
