I generally don't participate in political discussions but I received this forwarded email today and wanted to share it here for opinions and discussions on the validity of the contents. I am not posting this to start any arguements but am truly curious of your thoughts and opinions on this. I have not decided who I will be voting for as there is just so much c**p to sort through about both candidates it just makes a person's head spin. I am sure others of you have probably seen this before and I apolgize if you have but here it is. Again, this is not from me but from an email I received and author of email unknown.

"The Enemy From Within....

This scares the crap outta me!

This election has me very worried. So many things to

consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I

have changed my mind three times since than. I watch all

the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say

this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view

MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground

to work with. About six months ago, I started thinking

'where did the money come from for Obama'. I have

four daughters who went to College, and we were middle

class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked

hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in

California . He is very open about his two years at

Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his

time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply

himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name

he used all his life) during this time had two roommates,

Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan .

During the summer of 1981, after his second year in

college, he made a 'round the world' trip.

Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia , next Hyderabad in

India , three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with

his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his

father's family. My question - Where did he get the

money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children

would have had money for a trip like this when they where in

college. When he came back he started school at Columbia

University in New York . It is at this time he wants

everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the

tuition is at Columbia ? It's not cheap to say the least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as

a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago ?

Why not New York ? He was already living in New York .

By 'chance' he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko,

born in Aleppo Syria , and a real estate developer in

Chicago . Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery

this year. Rezko, was named 'Entrepreneur of the

Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional

Association'. About two years later, Obama entered

Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is

for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for Law

School? More student loans? After Law school, he went

back to Chicago . Rezko offered him a job, which he turned

down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill

& Galland. Guess what? They represented

'Rezar' which is Rezko's firm. Rezko was one

of Obama's first major financial contributors when he

ran for office in Chicago . In 2003, Rezko threw an early

fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune reporter David

Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with

'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race.

In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District

of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price).

With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money

for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita,

purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London

Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire

loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new

home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with

Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie

Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now

Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major

decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett

born? Ready for this? Shiraz , Iran ! Do we see a pattern

here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley, advisor

to Obama, was 'sacked' after the press found out he

was having regular contacts with 'Hamas', which

controls Gaza and is connected with Iran . This past week,

buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers

reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq , he asked

their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is

elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that

where born in Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those

'small' Internet campaign contributions for Obama.

Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle

class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle

East?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The

Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on

'This Week' with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on

talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim faith'.

When questioned, 'he made a mistake'. Some

mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would

like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama;

Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited

Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008;

The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been reporting this?

A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the enemy from within'!!! Please pass this on to others, for the sake of our Great Country, before it's too late! We all need to know exactly WHO Obama is and WHERE his past comes from."

I am glad you are looking to find out the truth. I don't plan on voting for Obama myself but that doesn't mean I don't want to know the truth about things like this.
Good for you, Jayne!

The truth is important - no matter what side you are on... and those viral emails are designed to make people upset, to make them uneasy, to scare them - and most important of all - to make people believe them. More to the point (as I said in another thread) they expect you will believe them and not check the facts....

As snopes and other similar sites have shown - there is usually lots of spin and very little truth involved...

I've wondered where Obama's early money came from too. I'm not talking about his campaign funds but about the kinds of things that letter talks about. I've never heard that his Kansas family was wealthy and have heard that his father definitely isn't. I've also wondered about his choice of name change from Barry to Barack. Just more things to wonder about and it isn't just because of that email.

I have deleted this post.

I really do not think most people realize how much our freedoms and liberties are at stake and in danger... I know it has taken me back --- this election has brought out so much that I never dreamed could ever happen in America....this has been in the works -- undercover -- for many years now but not until now, in this election, have I began the realize -- we are not nearly as free as we think we are and much closer to a dictatorship than we dare think ... there are forces at work that would undermine all that we have hold dear and have perhaps taken for granted for so many years...this election is the most critical one of our time. I know this statement was often said in many past elections but this time, it is seriously and dangerously true...That Fifth Column is holding some pretty high cards and if we don't call their hand -- they are going to win and shove their theologies and agendas down our throats whether we like it or not..."We the People" do not matter to them -- we are irrelevant to them and their designs on our national security are real and will be catastrophic to the "home of the brave and the land of the free". Wake up America, the enemy is about to take the helm of this ship by treachery and deceit....they want to underhandedly elect those who will shut the voices of descent down for good. That is your voice and mine..conservative theology and those who hold to those principles are their enemies and must be eliminated...even the man who started the Conservative Movement, William Buckley, Jr. has a son, Christopher Buckley, who says, Sorry, Dad, I am voting for Obama!!!!.....now how discouraging is that??? We must fight and pray for this election so our government does not go into the hands of the real enemies of freedom...the Liberal, Socialistic, Far-Left Elites backed by all their evil money and the evil ones who are funded by it... Just my opinion after much thought and reading the posts on this forum and others.
Oh my goodness

Gini I can't say that I agree with everything you said.....but I DEFINITELY agree that this is the most critical election of our time and that too many people don't realize what's at stake. I think all we can do is vote for who we think is the best person for the job and pray that whoever is elected has what it takes to pull us through everything we'll be facing for the next years. I too am very concerned about America's future.

Ignorance breeds more ignorance and that is why I am concerned that should Obama be elected some idiot, bigot, un-rationale individual will try to kill him.

just like Martin Luther King who was a decent and amazing man and only because he didn't fit the norm of "American" and the fact he was "different"

Now Laura, its 'Do as I say, not as I do' , politics doncha know The answers to peoples questions are there, if they want to look. Or moreover, want to even believe. Doesnt matter if its fact or not, their minds are made up.

As for the so called name change from Barry to Barrack. His name is Barrack, his nic was Barry. He decided to use his real name and not his nic.

Tango, A few of those things I've already known.......they are common knowledge, I think. But raise questions by themselves. Interestingly, that list doesn't include the subject of Ayers.......who is a known (and admitted) terrorist.

Some people will think this is a bit "far out", but has anyone stopped to realize the parallels from history that may be occurring? If one researches where Germany was after WWI.......They were in a financial crisis, worse than us, but not unlike us, and people were scared..... and one man stepped forward who gave the public hope.......who said all the right things.

Then, of course, this was all supposedly predicted by a French astronomer and "psychic" about 500 years ago......

Pepi thank you for clarifying my question regarding his name.

Danielle I made a point for weeks to stay away from the assignation issue but since it's come up a few times I'll explain my fears.

Early on my daughter and I were talking about his candidacy and discussed the (in our opinion) very real possibility that someone (a nut, a racist, a psycho, whoever) would attempt an assignation. A lot of you didn't live through it but I vividly remember Kennedy's, so please don't say it couldn't happen. If it were to happen, certainly if the attempt was successful, it's my opinion that America will see a race war that will rival the bloodshed we only see on television in other countries. Does anyone remember LA and the Rodney King issue? Picture something like that nationwide.

To take the assignation theory even further - just think how easy it would be for someone who hates America to hire someone (wouldn't matter who it was as long as he's white) and just sit back and watch America destroy herself. With the nasty turn things have taken recently I'll take it a step further and say now I'm worried about what may happen no matter who wins the election. There will be disgruntled people either way.

I've discussed this with a few people and unfortunately everyone I've discussed it with has said they think it's a possibility too. Most of them had already discussed it with someone else so I know I'm not the only one who's thought about it.

I know some of you will consider what I've said radical. Perhaps it is....but those are my real fears. I pray to God they're unfounded.

Gini... you are more than entitled to your opinion... but that ^^ in particular makes makes me sad... and for the first time - really worried about the potential reactions from some extremists if Obama wins.

I know some of you will consider what I've said radical. Perhaps it is....but those are my real fears. I pray to God they're unfounded.
Appylover2 - I might have though it was radical a while ago... but after some of the reactions at McCain and/or Palin appearances.... and McCain actually being booed for saying Obama was a decent man and no one to be "afraid" of... and after reading some extreme posts online that make Gini's look tame... I think assassination fears are warranted. Some whack job may decide that they need to save the country from Evil... and that they will be hailed for doing so...

miniv - they are not all common knowledge - more like common misconceptions. As the links that Jayne provided show. Ayers was a terrorist in the past who still has radical views... who sat on the same committee as Obama, a committte that also had Republican connections. But that gets glossed over...

I don't consider it racial at all, I consider it very much a possibility with the repugnant things I have heard at some of the rallies of McCain/Palin and other radical and yes I use the word radical republicans. It's one thing to deal with issues but it something else when their is a "witch" hunt, reminds me of the Inquisition going on. Where did all of these "he is an arab, he is a muslim, he is a terrorist" mentality start? As I have said as well it doesn't look good on the U.S. image because on one hand you go into countries to help out women that are oppressed (middle-east and the Taliban) to bring fairness to the people, etc. and what is going on in your own country - "my daughter and I are scared" - "he is an arab" - "kill him" - "treason", etc. etc. etc. I am just waiting to hear "axis of evil" attributed to Obama

Good point Ma!

I want you all to understand that even tho my post may have raised an eyebrow or two. I am not as radical as it sounded. I'm just plain scared!!!

Do I agree with everything McCain and Palin say NO. My husband and I have worked very hard all our lives as I'm sure all of you are and have done.

We are both retired with savings, 401 K's, and our railroad retirement income. We own everything we have out right so we are lucky in that respect, however, if I am hearing right, everything we have is in jeopardy. Yes we have our property. But if everything bottoms out who is going to buy it and with what? Our 401 K has gone to you know where in a handbasket. Our saving I understand will be worthless supposidly cents on the dollar. Will our retirement income continue? My DH and I are in our 60's and what are we going to do? We are helping our kids that live near us daily with money and that well is drying up.

Due to job situation here in Arizona we have had to let them live rent free in the other house we own. Their daughter and family has had to move in with them so in essence we are helping all. There are no jobs in the fields they are schooled in so one works at a daycare, 2 work in fast food places and the other is working as a cook. Are their jobs secure I don't think so.

None have state insurance as believe it or not with their parttime jobs they make too much! Go figure!

I probably shouldn't have posted that way but again I'm just plain scared and seeing my way of life such as it is going down the tubes.

Sorry to have given the impression that this 64 year old lady is a radical extremest! That is the farthest thing from the truth there is.

I'M JUST PLAIN SCARED!!!

Awww Gini...BIG HUG (((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I do not see a radicial when I read your post..

the election is not over yet..and hopefully it ain't all that bad..take a deep breath..

My worry, is that we will have some sort of terrorist act in the States, in '09. Think about it. The last 2 new terms of a President have brought one and I dont think its coincidence.

Pepipony... that is a concern. And no matter who is elected, IMO they are not going to be able to sort this mess out and fix things up in 4 years...
default_no.gif

Gini I think my last post will be considered by some as radical too. Believe me when I say I'm scared right along with you. I'm 66, single and live on a fixed income. Since my retirement is paid by the federal government I have to assume they will continue, but who the he-doubleL knows. I think it's ok to be scared. There are a lot of us feeling that way right now and I think rightfully so.

Danielle & TAG - I've got to admit that I wasn't surprised to see the immediate blame for my fears placed on McCain. I'm not even gonna go there.
