Smoky Black question

Our two week old colt was born black. I mean BLACK. So BLACK he almost looks Blue. Over the past two weeks the fur in his ears has turned from a slightly strawberry blonde color to a cream color. The end of his nose has gone from BLACK to a reddish color and is now looking more cream. Around his eyes he is starting to lighten to that reddish color his nose took on just before lightening. His dam is a black Blue Boy granddaughter and his sire is a Palomino Mickey Mouse granson. I will go take a photo of him and add it in a few minutes.

Here are my two lab tested Smokey Black horses. The first is Bears Snips Illustration, Smokey Black Tobiano, Splash, and Sabino.

Next is Bear Farms Deva Of The Isles, Smokey Black Sabino and likely Splash.

As you can see, Cream can express very differently from one time to the next on Black.

I'm not sure what you're question was, but of the smokey blacks we've had born here, none have been super dark/jet black. I've seen blue roans appear that jet black and change but so far none of the dilute bred ones.

Any possibility of dun factor?

probably a smokey black.

Her Mom appears to be black as can be and her dad is a palomino.
