I've been wanting to clip my new foal, he's only two weeks old. Its been getting in the upper 90's here during the day and in the night its been getting between 40-50 degrees. So my question is that if I clip him now would I need to get him a blanket for the night??? I just don't want him to get too cold at night. Also what kind of blanket should I get him? How thick? Thanks!

I would not clip at this time. My vet told me that new foals cannot regulate their body temperatures for really about 6 weeks. Hair is also insulation against the elements, so I would wait a bit.
