i just found this on the Wisconsin animal ID site "Registering a livestock premises doesn’t obligate the premises to participate in the next steps of the plan (animal ID and animal tracking)."

Oh well maybe I will then go and do the tagging because of the steer I will raise up for the freexer the processing plant may require it...

In this area all the livestock are already tagged with BAR code IDs. So far it applies only to cattle since I do not think horse owners are going to jump at the chance to ear tag their horses. It might some day come to micro chip them but any plan like that will be years away and getting the huge mennonite population to comply would be impossible.
