I really really want a new car, I dont like the one I have, and honestly havent cared for it from almost day one. Mom says no, I cant trade it off(need her permission as she is a co-signer). I have had it for almost 2 years and still have 3 years of payments on it.

It is a 2004 Saturn Ion. Just havent really been happy with it. I liked my old saturn much better, if it woudl of been so expensive to fix the oil leak I would have done so. I did pay a bit more for this car as I added a sun roof and a spoiler to it before it came home.

What are some nice cars, sporty looking and not rediculously priced?

I got a Neon last year. Gets great gas milage and is a sporty looking car. I think this is the last year they are making them. Don't know why

they seem to be one of there best sellers?

My parents just bought my 16 year old sis a mitsubishi eclipse, it's an 02 I think. She pays the payments, which are under $200 a month, and the insurance isn't all that bad either (for a 16 year old kid, that is!)

I think it's a cute car, it's a pearl color, very girly

Hi Ash. Here's what the boys have:

Michael has the white Ford Escort and hates it. It does get great gas milage but he's a race car driver now and says it's totally uncool and most definately not a chick mobile. Too "old ladyish" for his taste. I don't care much for it either. It's way too small for me. I'll stick with my big mother truck.

Dan, my wild child has the black Neon and loves it. Good gas milage and to my surprise a big trunk for him to stash his girls, machine guns, or dead bodies or whatever it is he does when he's not throwing himself on the mercy of the court. (joking, maybe)

He's customized it and put under-glo lights, purple and green and now it looks like a criminal-mobile. Both boys have suped up the engines and done a lot of whatever it is they do to them to make them LOUD and tick me off. Daddy, who may be re-living his teenage years through them, might as well be standing there waving he checkered flag.

They all want an Altima

Toyota Echo or Matrix. The Echo gets 43mpg and the matrix wagon 33mpg.

Both excellent cars, do not cost as much as the average car. Very reliable which is also very important.

Can stuff all kinds of things in the Matrix wagon and it is easy to clean.

My list of passions would kind of go like this:

Dogs

Horses

Cars

Do you like the Hyundai Tiburons? Those are really sporty looking and not very expensive. You cannot beat the warranty, either... They are good cars in my experience.

I bought a 1996 Hyundai Elantra new back in 1996 because at that time, I needed a new car but couldn't afford any major repairs -- so the warranty was a big selling point to me at that time. I donated that car last year to Volunteers of America and I think it was at 200K and never a problem from it!

We have a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon that we bought new and it is gorgeous (to me anyway) with leather and all the toys. It has about 75k on it and is running great. At the end of last year, I bought a 2005 Hyundai Santa with leather and all the options, and also the "big" (for that vehicle) 3.5L engine and it's doing great and so much fun to drive.

I have a lot of confidence in the brand really. We always get the oil changed w/ synthetic and I think that may be a factor in long term dependability. If you take a look at their cars, I think you will see you really get A LOT for the money.

We've also got that Ford F150 I bought a few months ago and a volvo station wagon. I am an addict when it comes to vehicles, and I get that from my dad who i also a car junky only with a bigger budget than mine! But also, H and I each drive 100 miles a day when we go to work so I am really concerned that we always have dependable vehicles.

My family is a chevy family all the way but we do like all GM products. I went to the dealership the other day to look at trucks and ended up looking at this way cute HHR. It isn't really a car but is still small and has great gas mileage. It is very spacious and price range is in the lower 20, 000...I think with all the options is still came out under 25,000. The only thing I see wrong with it is that it is a 4 cylinder. But hey I am used to my bigger engine's. Go look at one in person because the pictures on the internet I thought made it look ugly. I love this thing and if I hadn't just bought a truck that would for sure be sitting under my carport.

Well I just bought a new car.......after looking at the toyota matrix priced at 26,000-27,000 the chevy cobalt (ok it was cute) again priced well over 25,000 and never did hear from the dealer about the other model....we went to a huge new and used car event...we got a 2004 kia spectra bare bones 5 speed with a 60,000 warranty for drum roll 9,000....this car had 7000 miles on it I believe it was the dealer's loaner it is in great condition and is fun to drive gets good gas mileage is well rated by consumer guide....the only thing I don't like is the color it is that sand/gold/champagne yuck and I have finally gotten rid of that nasty new car smell

nope don't like that smell .......if this car were black it would be slightly sporty looking but it is a kick to drive and has tons of get up and move (speaks the woman who peeled out of her parking lot yesterday ..

it was an accident I swear)

but I am hoping they will come out with a 6 cylinder option in the next couple of years......I think it is a bit much car for the 4 so will be watching it's ratings closely....around here they start about 25,000

Idaho has some horrid car prices I have noticed

I was going to say a used Kia also....I have an Optima - (it looks like the new mercedes believe it or not, sporty looking) loaded...it is a 2003, had 12,000 miles on it...6 cylinder, with everything, even custom pinstipping...only paid $ 7,200 for it! 60,000 mile warranty.

My sister bought a brand new one - paid $16,000 for it new. They are actually made by hyuandi (sp?)...if you buy new you get 100,000 mile warranty.

They have fairly good reviews...one big drawback if you haven't noticed by how cheap the used ones are....resale value is crap...you'd have to get one based on keeping it for a while.

Well, I had an 03 Dodge Ram ultil the end of Dec 04 I traded it in for a 2005 MUSTANG (To save on gas, as all my horses are located outside at trainers/farms) NOW I want a big truck or suv... But with the car only about 13K miles I will hold out until I buy a house. lol

I love the new Mustang though....

A friend of mine has an 05 Tiburon...that is one sweet set of wheels. They are VERY small however. I cannot sit in the backseat without my head hitting the roof and my knees crammed up under my chin. Feel kinda like I'm in a tin can. They are very low to the ground also, she has to be careful because it drags on everything. As I said though they are nice sporty looking cars and I'm sure the gas mileage is pretty good.

I have a small-ish car, not really all that sporty in my opinion, but it's not bad. It's a 96 Dodge Stratus. I've had it over a year now, so far so good. No complaints on gas. It is also very low to the ground, which for me is a real pain. It's a four-door, and it is big enough that several people can ride in the back comfortably. I like that it gives a little extra space, but I do get the occasional jerk who asks if I'm expecting a family soon
