Missing Mini Stallion in Michigan

I just received an email that a miniature stallion is missing (and believed to be stolen) from a rescue in Michigan earlier this week. Here are the details:

Incident Description: Went out horse missing his halter is gone his lead rope is gone fence pulled off post and pulled up where they slipped the horse out. Called the police nothing they can do

This I do not understand??? Why is there "nothing they can do"?

Well, isn't this wierd. there was just on the news here in OkC yesterday a report of a mini stallion missing from a rescue not far from me. Black and white stallion. And no signs of how this horse came to be missing so he is assumed to be stolen.

I hope both of these little guys get home safely.
