Dear Forum Members
As the year winds to a close and we are surrounded by our loved ones
to celebrate Christmas, we wanted to thank you all for the fact that
many deserving minis are able to celebrate another year of life
because of your support.
This year has been especially difficult due to a number of factors,
including fuel prices. the overbreeding of minis for which there is no market,
and the added strain of Katrina and Rita. All of these have
contributed to a national cry for help by mini owners on the margin
of their capabilities, and a market glut created by people
trying to squeeze a few last dollars out of animals that they view as
commodities.
Equine rescues have been seriously challenged this year, and we could
not continue to do what we do without the support of people like you.
Whether you are donating much-needed funds, providing hands-on care
through fostering or volunteering, maintaining a web site, helping
with fundraising, spreading the word about horses in need, or any of a
million other things needed to help horses reach safety, you are
providing a crucial element of equine rescue. For that, we and the
minis are very much in your debt. We'd also like to extend a special
"Thank You" to our fellow rescues, who work tirelessly and selflessly
to promote equine care, educate the public, and when these efforts
fail, to provide a safe haven for needy horses.
We wish the very best for you, your families and the animals in your
care (hooved and otherwise!) during the holiday season, and throughout
the coming year.
Merry Christmas and God bless,
CMHR Board Of Directors
