I know this has probably already been asked at some point on here but i'm asking again, lol.

How tall and what would be the weight limit for kids to ride a mini? The horse is 36"

I've always "heard" and read that the max weight of both rider and any saddle should be NO more than 70lbs.

25-30% of horses weight is generally the max they can carry including rider and tack. We have a 37.5" mare that very comfortably carries my 50lb, 5 year old and his saddle.

Also take into account the bone structure of your horse. A heavy boned 34" mini can handle 50 to 60 lbs easily, while a refined 36" may not.. And if using a small saddle, that needs to be included.

Thank you for asking the question.....with warm weather this is a good time for kids to want to ride a "pony" and it should be addressed every year, IMO.
