Hairicane Ranch has our 1st foal of the year and wow it was a total surprise. I have a foaling pen full of obviously pregnant mares, have foaling alarms on and cameras running. So what do I find out in a different pasture but a new baby with a mom who I didnt even know was in foal!! OMG!!! Mom is a maiden mare and its the dads 1st foal too. The sneaky mom, Opal, is a National top 10 at halter mare and dad is sired by a Res. Nat Champion and is a Champion Farms Nighthawk son. Meet little Hairicane Surprize Treasure, Prize for Short.

This 1st pix is Prize at a few hours old and the crested is one of my smaller ones.
