I know that there has been a lot of talk on supplements here scattered about the forum but I thought it would be really neat to have one post dedicated to everyone's supplements they love and use and for what purposes/goals.

I always love learning from everyone's experiences and can't wait to hear back on what you guys feed as far as supplements go!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mare Plus --> we feed MP to all stallions in use for breeding that year, any mares being bred & are pregnant as well as lactating mares. We have found that the mares stay in better condition, have better milk production, both the mare and her foal have shinier coats & better hooves.
Grow Colt --> we feed GC to foals as soon as they start eating grain and until they turn 2 years old. We have found that with GC they transition to grain only easier and have nice, strong hooves and they seem to be so lively and bright.
***above supplements are used in conjunction with appropriate amount of Strategy per horse***
I am a huge fan of Missing Link. There are two formulas, the regular and the one for joints. We were given a quarter horse several years ago that was a high dollar horse in the western pleasure arena. She kept randomly going lame in the front and after Xrays, specialists, and a number of costly treatments they gave up and gave her to us. I put her on Missing Link Equine Joint formula for about three months. She was completely sound for two of those three months so I kind of forgot about giving her any more supplement. She remained sound for over two years before the mystery lameness showed up again. I put her back on it, sound again, just like that! Not only that, it gives them a really nice bloom of health.
Corta-Flx -- for joint health and arthritis. Mostly have it for my 27 year old half-arab gelding, but also give it to a couple of minis. I've also used Absorbine Flex+ which is really good too (just more expensive).
Remission -- for a couple of laminitic minis, seems to help and its economical enough that I can continue to feed it.
B-L Pellets -- pain-reliever for the laminitic minis when they have flare-ups, less harsh than bute on the stomach.
There are a lot of good supplements out there.
For a really cheap vitamin/mineral that somehow makes the coat really shine, I've liked "Equi-Pride" by SweetPro.
All of the Grand Meadows line is very good, I've used Grand Vite, Grand Flex, Grand Hoof, and Grand Complete. They work well, are great for the money with little filler. These are usually my "go to" if I have a specific issue like hooves or joint.
I have tried and liked Select Nu-Image for a coat supplement.
My stallion is currently on Accel Lifetime by VitaFlex. So far, so good! I do like to have my horses on some sort of multivitamin, even though they do get grain and very good quality hay.
I do use quite a few supplements, but my feeding program is checked through with my vet and he and I are both comfortable with it. I feed:
Strongid C: daily worming (though he doesn't clean it all up in one feeding, so yesterday I had Doc run a fecal on him and we may take him off of it if the results of the fecal are not satisfactory).
CocoSoyaSP: Omega 3's
Omega Horseshine: Omega 6's and daily sand colic prevention. (I wasn't comfortable with the purges that I could find)
Farrier's Formula: Biotin for hoof health, among other things.
I was just thinking about this recently, as I was scooping out all my supplements, curious to know what others use too.
-Senior Flex by Med-Vet, great joint supplement has everything I wanted.
-Ground flaxseed, use it every spring, sometimes all year, but most don't need the extra fat year round.
-Probios powder & the paste, I have it on hand all the time and use it mostly during stressful times, or illness, foals, etc.
-MSM powder, for mini mare with Uveitis to help prevent inflammation in her eyes. I've used it for others too, during/after a laminitis attack, etc.
-Electrolyte paste, I keep this on hand too, after my vet recommended using it for a horse that was ill. I can't think of the brand name now, but I've used different brands. Used again just recently when a mare was running a temp, but showing no other signs of illness. Figured it couldn't hurt, and it does make them thirsty so they will drink.
-Remission, I just started using the last few months, I like it for some, but not seeing much change in others.
right now i just use Vitaplus for all my horses. when i start breeding i plan on useing:
for the mares:
mareplus, calphormin, vitaplus
for the stud:
vitaplus, ration plus
for the foal(s):
foal response, foal lac pellets, grow colt, vitaplus
Interesting thread. I'm always curious about what others use & for what reason.
We've used EquiPride & EquiLix by Sweetpro for a long time. Had great results with it when we had big horses. It's been OK with the minis, so I've been checking into other options for them.
Recently started using DAC supplements on a show horse (oil, bloom & orange superior), lactating mare (orange superior) & a older breeding stallion (orange superior). So far I'm liking the results in this short amount of time.
I keep on hand Probios powder. Also electrolytes in there water or beet pulp during hot months or if they arn't drinking enough.
