Thanks wildhorses, but these are not the same people. The Fykes I seek, spell their name with a 'y' and not an 'i'. They were also breeding Minis long before the breeders you mentioned.

I know who you mean I have some old magazines they used to put out "The Miniature Show Horse Times" address in there was for E.D. Fyke MD. from Fort Worth Tx. These were from the early 80s and the picture of him in the magazine he does look older in them so I would think by now he is deceased. They seem to promote a stallion called Fyke's Red Baron in the magazine a lot but in the studbook looks like he only had a few for them last in about 84 or 85 was at another farm it seems by 88 and only 32 all together...hope that helps

It does indeed AshleyNicole. After a ton of emails trying to trace Tishers Little Baron, I was told he was a son of Fykes Red Baron. I was hoping the Fykes were still around and maybe get a pic of either of the Baron horses. Sorry that is not to be, but many thanks for your info on E.D.Fyke MD.

If you would like to see pix of NFCS Quicksilver, he still stands at our farm and is 22 years old now! You can check him out on our website at wwminihorses.tripod.com

Thanks Diane for mentioning Quicksilver our Top 5 National Champion!

Such a lot of nice horses came from that line. I have been doing a lot of research into it. Thank you AshleyNicole for the scan.

Mr. Tisher (apparently) bred a mare to Fykes Red Baron. They produced Tishers Little Baron, whom he used on many mares and also bred many of the offspring back to their sire. This was to produce chestnut horses, with flaxen manes and tails, with four white feet and a blaze. According to Johnice Hopson, it didn't always work out as he had hoped, since he often came up with overos and silvers. This would suggest that Tishers Little Baron was possibly a minimal splash, silver overo and not chestnut.

I know he sold off many of his overos and silvers to some well known farms where they were renamed with their own farm name. Interesting stuff.

Thanks for the pics AshleyNicole. Just saw them after I finished this message.

AshleyNicole. I was away at my daughter's for two weeks and when I came back, so many forum pages had passed by. I didn't see the pics you posted until now.

Many thanks. I really appreciate it.
