My friend is taking her mini girl to Oregon State Vet school for some tests.

They are hauling her companion with them to keep her calm and quiet.

Anyone in the Corvallis area know of someplace they could off load

the companion horse during the time it will take to run the tests?

I was wondering if anyone knew if the Benton County Fairgrounds allowed

short term lay over for traveling horses?

Thanks :)

How long will it take the tests to be done?

It's been a while since we've had to go the vet school, but as I recall there is a large parking area for people with horse trailers.........I don't see why you couldn't off load your companion horse in the parking and tie him for awhile, plus walk him around the area.

Maryann is correct...there is a large grassy area that is open where I am sure you could hand graze your horse, or tie him to the trailer. I guess this plan wouldn't be so great if it is really rainy, but I'm sure there is plenty of space right there. If she wanted to go for a walk, there is a thing called the "Bald Hill Path" that is only about a mile west of the university that is a lovely place to walk and I'm sure she could take the horse with her.

That is nice that she's taking a companion horse for company. I'm sure it will work out fine.

Thanks for that input Maryann and Jayne.

I will pass it along.

We're not sure how long a procedure it will be.....

They are going to have to knock her out so.......?

Surgery is possible. They'll head on back home if that is the judgement,

after the tests are done, till she is recouped enough to return home.

At this point there is some question as to the diagnosis so I won't get

into it until we know for sure what we're talking about.
