This is Semi's baby Semi's Amber Idol. She is changing color right

before my eyes!

Born with pink skin and white hooves, now she has black skin and her hooves

are about 3/4 black now. She looks like she was dipped in mud... LOL

Her eyes have remained blue.

Her dam, Semi, is a bay, tested red/black/ neg for LWO

Her sire, Billy Idol, a cremello. Suspected to be carrying silver.

And a question: The blaze.. Sabino?

** The results are... She IS a Palomino, homozygous for Red

No Silver

Heterozygous for Agouti (bay) very cool I think..

We think she is a Sooty Palomino.

Thanks for all the compliments. She is a tiny thing..

I hope to show her next year.

creme/silver she has to have the creme gene but I would guess she is a smokey silver? She is cute whatever she is but I can not wait to hear the results

With a Cremello sire and a Bay dam, she has to be a single Cream Dilute. I am going to say, based on appearance, Silver Buckskin. Which lab did the tests?

Edit to add; Blaze is Splash, which also accounts for the blue eyes.

She looks very much like a silver buckskin to me.

Wait... you are not posting the results yet? Oh I see, we guess... I can't wait!

My guess is sooty palomino w/ splash.

I don't know a thing about color yet, but I know a beautiful girl when I see one! Can't wait to read the official results.

I only see two pictures (1 day and 1 month). She looks palomino to me. I just wanted to say, wow, look at that eye-liner. She's a beauty.

Third picture finally came through, darn dial-up; I don't have a clue on color, but isn't she a beauty.

Cool. It'll be interesting to see how many times she changes before she gets her adult coat; and even then they do some changing with season, nutrition, weather.

My palomino mare came out of winter (spring shed) this year very dark and dappled (a few asked if she was silver dapple), and now is almost back to her usual uniform pale palomino coloring.

Definitely looked Pally in first pic ... they are often born pink skinned and blue eyed ... I've had a couple the same

She's lovely, like her mama

Gorgeous! Semi's still my fave "tiny"!

Neat color info w/the testing opposed to guessing. A great horse is always the perfect color, she's just got the "icing" going on there, doesn't she?
