Carl from Aranaway Farms in Grants Pass, OR asked me to forward this on. This clinic is for VSE's in Training Level and Preliminary Level. Maureen Harkin from Happs will be on hand to organize and help.
SCHOOLING DRIVING TRIAL
We are anticipating a fun time, learning experience, and practice at
the first of many Driving Events in Southern Oregon. The weekend is
set up so that beginning carriage drivers can school their horses and
themselves. Saturday everyone will have access to regulation size
Dressage ring, a Cones Course, and a marked Marathon course, complete
with Hazards. Sunday will be run as a Driving Trial with judged
Dressage tests, a Marathon Course, and a Cones Course. It will be run
in a similar format as an Arena Driving Trial (ADT) or Combined
Driving Event (CDE)
All participants are encouraged to school the marathon course and
hazards on Saturday and/or walk the course on their own. There is no
official course walk, so this is your opportunity to become familiar
with the course prior to Sunday's "competition". If a participant has
a question regarding specifics of the course he/she should call it to
the attention of the Organizer. The Marathon course covers flat
pasture and trees, may be bumpy, and includes a water crossing.
There is an open low grazed pasture area which we will designate for
camping and it has easy access to it. No charge for camping. Will
have potable water available in close proximity to camping area and
port a potty's will be available on the grounds.
·Clinic fee for Saturday and Sunday is $80.00. We are limiting the
weekend to 30 participants.
·BBQ Saturday night : $12/Person Menu – Baby Back Ribs & Chicken,
Baked Potato, Salad, Bread, & Desert with Soft Drinks/Iced Tea.
·Limited Number of Stalls @ $25/Weekend includes first bedding. Will
take stall fees until they are gone.
·Limited Number of 12 x12 Pens close to camping area @ $10/Weekend no
bedding. Will take pen fees until they are gone.
·Dogs allowed, but must be on a leash.
