Has anyone used Georgia Walker horse insurance? I'm looking to probably insure a horse that I will be having hauled home in the near future, and am looking into a few companies. This company was recommended to me by a transport company.

They will offer major medical/surgery with an annual limit of $7,500 and a $250 deductible per claim, along with mortality/theft. The annual premium would be $450 for the above. I 'm awaiting to see what kind of little clauses and fine print there is for the policy.

Is this what I should expect to pay? Ive inquired at a few other companies, but they never got back to me with a quote.

It all will depend on the VALUE of the horse. Normally, for plain mortality (not surgery, etc) you should expect to pay 2.9 to 3 percent of the VALUE.
