I have called AMHA...left 2 messages

I have emailied AMHA and gotten no response.

I KNOW this has been asked before.....cant find a topic thread on it.

Can you change the name of a AMHA registered horse (if the horse had NOT been shown AMHA or had any AMHA foals).

In 2 of the other breeds I have you can do this (for a fee).

Thanks for any help with this and/or any info you can provide.

no you can not change a horses name, unless the horse was named after a mare or stallion that was proven through dna not to be the get of said parents.

I thought you could change a name if you have written permission from the breeder (if not you) and the horse has no offspring.

Dana - AMHA does not allow name changes. AMHR does allow name changes with written permission from the breeder as long as the horse who's name is to be changed has no offspring and no show record.
