    Geldings & Jennys together

The latter stuff I already knew, which is why he is being housed separately until he has been gelded and then allowing for 3 weeks after gelding for him to get everything out of his system. He is only 8 months old and hasn't done any breeding that I know of. I'm still trying to figure out what...

    Geldings & Jennys together

Thank you. That's what I had thought also, but I wanted to make sure. The safety of my girls is of utmost importance, but I have this opportunity to get this standard jack and I am very excited about adding him to our family. He will stay at my parent's barn until he can get gelded.

    Geldings & Jennys together

Does anyone have an opinion about whether it is ok to put geldings and breeding jennys in the same field/barn together? What if the gelding is a standard size and the jennys are miniature? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Driving questions!

I'm also pretty new to this world of training my donks to drive, but I ordered my harness from chimacumtack and they send it so you have 3 different sizes around the middle so it can fit any size donkey. I can't remember the website exactly but it must have been something like chimacumtack.com ...

    Great forum!

Just wanted to say thanks for all the great info on the forum here. I was just searching for info on diarrhea, since Joanie looks a bit looser today. It's really great being able to learn from everybody else's experiences. I'm going to stop on the way home and get some coconut cookies and try...

    Couple of questions?

I know these other guys will be able to answer better than I can about horses and donkeys getting along, but I can let you know that a jack is an uncastrated male and a gelding is a castrated male. I can also tell you that even though I knew there would be some bad behavior when I brought in my...

More pics of my insanity (uh, farm)

Oh, drats...it looked fine when I previewed it. Let me throw a couple in here and see if it works. (That's what happens when you try to teach us old dogs new tricks!) Our Ram, Life. (Get it, "grab life by the horns", haha!) Ok, stupid & tacky, perhaps. One of our ewes My son, Andy and our...

More pics of my insanity (uh, farm)

This is Maryanne...I don't actually own her; she is "borrowed" since I purchased Joanie http://images.kodakgallery.com/photos4185/...24812_0_ALB.jpg as a bred jenny and it would be a year 'til she had her foal and, obviously, I knew she couldn't come by herself. I say borrowed, but we all know...

First your pics have to be on a website. Then you just go to the website your pics are posted on and choose the pic you want to post. Right click on the pic and choose properties. It will bring up the URL, then just choose copy. Go back into your post and choose the little tree pic...

Here's my first girl! Ok, here's the thing; I've never belonged to a forum before, so I have no clue how all this works. Just thought I'd introduce myself by letting you know that my husband and I have a small (8ish acres) farm in upstate New York. We just purchased our first miniature donkeys...
