mini horses and mini donkeys together

Was wondering who all out there has mini horses and mini donkeys together. I read a few posts on the mini donkey forum but not much activity there. Is putting mini horses and mini donkeys together a wise thing to do? What have been your experiences with this?

    A tooth question

Yesterday while cleaning my fillies stall, I found what appeared to be a tooth or a bone. I know it is not a bone from my horse so it is either a tooth she lost or something that was in the bedding. It has 4 little craters in it with a point coming up out of one of the craters. On the other...

Would love to see a pic of a forum member's horse

I would love to see a pic of this adorable little horse. I remember the owner had it in the cutest little pumkin costume last Halloween. I believe the owner's forum name is Beccy. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. She is the most adorable little horse and I have been watching for any new...

    My Horse Story

I managed to hurt my foot before going to bed. This morning it was swollen and a couple of my toes were every color of the rainbow. When I went out to care for my horses, I was hobbling very bad. I could only walk on the side of the bad foot. My horses watched me coming as they usually do but...

Is there a baby in the barn or a horse in the crib?

Having a baby monitor in my barn is so nice. I go to bed every night listening to the usual, occasional horse sounds and know that all is well at the barn. However a few days ago I woke up to a noise I had never heard my horses make and thought OMG what's wrong with my horses! I was still half...

A dog training center in my area

I just found out about a dog training center here in my little town that has just opened. I called and my first class with my pomeranian Doby will start October 4. I can hardly wait. Doby needs some obedience training very badly. I have looked for a place for sometime, and now one has opened...

Has anyone else watched HGTV's Design Star?

I have really enjoyed this series. Sorry it is almost over. I am really hoping that Kim wins. I think her design's have been wonderful. She could design my house anytime. I must get over to HGTV's site and vote for her today. And I love her personality.

    Kentucky Derby water glass

Yesterday while shopping at our local antique store I found a couple glasses fron Kentucky Derby races that were many years ago. On the glass are all the winners since 1875. I would love to find many more of these but I would especially like to find one with last years winner Barbaro. Anyone...

My filly is breaking my heart

My little filly Blossom seems to be changing. She use to hang out with me in the barn for awhile in the mornings while I cleaned the stalls and would always show me where she needed scratching. She would follow me around and be so sweet and loving. Well it has been a couple months since she has...

    barn fans

Does anyone else let their barn fans run 24/7? It has been hot and humid here lately and I have been letting the barn fan run through the night but this always worries me. My barn has adequate wiring to handle this but I still worry. It is a farm and ranch fan especially made for outdoor use. My...

    Good barn cleaning tool

I have found a terrific tool to help clean walls and cobwebs in my barn. I use a feather duster. It doesn't have feathers but is like a feather duster. Got it at Walmart for a couple of dollars. I use to use the broom but it was awkward and hard to keep in the air while doing walls and ceilings...

My filly bloats when she eats grass

She always does. It doesn't matter if she is in the pasture for 15 minutes or 2 hours. She bloats. My 2 geldings are in the same pasture with her and this doesn't happen to them. She has never had colic and this bloating does not seem to cause her any discomfort. My horses are usually in their...

A snake in one of my stalls!!!

Has anyone else ever found a live snake in a stall? I was horrified!! My horses were not in their stalls at the time. As I approached the stall, I saw it laying there big as life and no one around to help me. There would have been a time that I would have gone running in the house and hid under...

Need housebreaking help with my pomeranian pup

I am at my wits end. It was all going so well and now I seem to be back to square one. My pom had gone 3 days with no mistakes. He really seemed to have caught on to the whole housebreaking concept. Wrong!! Yesterday he messed up 3 times and today once already. And this is with taking him out...

Anybody out there have a poma/poo dog?

I am thinking of getting a pomeranian/poodle puppy. The mom is a full blooded pomeranian and the dad is a full blooded poodle. I have seen the parents and the pups. Does anyone have one of these types of dogs and could you post a picture? I would like to see a pic of this type of dog full grown...

Is there such a thing as a pygmy horse?

While watching Animal Planet yesterday I watched a show about amazing animals setting new guiness world records. There was a 30" (if I remember right) horse that was setting a new world record for a jump. The gal called it a pygmy horse due to it's size. It jumped a 24" jump which made a new...

A total change in my horse

My black gelding was always a bit of a challenge. He was a mouthy horse and unpredictable. And twice he tried to kick me. And with one of his kicks, his hoof grazed my head. He always had a wary look in his eye. But in spite of this, I loved him dearly. I tried all the trainers ways of dealing...

What I have learned lately at LB.

This forum is a veritable gold mine of information. I don't post much but I read fairly often and I have learned quite a lot lately. The danger of frost on the pastures, the danger of the seeds in apples, and how easily a fire can start in a barn. It is amazing how much I've learned in my...

    Mixing paste wormers with grain

I just wormed my 3 minis yesterday and mixed the paste wormer with their grain. My little filly is easy to worm orally but my 2 geldings are a bit like trying to worm godzilla so I just mixed all 3 minis wormer in their grain. Was wondering if any one else does this?
