We've never had it say a mare was in foal that wasn't. This past year we had it indicate early on that a mare wasn't in foal only to change to in foal later on (and there was no breeding in between). We believe the nail is fairly accurate.

Nope-it isn't different here in Canada! Just another thing to consider but our vet advises us to use something other than ivermectin in the fall as it not effective on tapeworms, and fall is when they are most common.

When our two year old stallion died a few years ago, I called the registry to let them know and they asked that the registration papers be returned as they belonged to the Registry. I believe that he shows up as deceased in the studbook.
