Seeing If New Owners Registered Horses

Well they were only sold this last October in the beginning of the month. I guess I should give 'em time to register and AMHR to get to it. Thanks.

    Club Fund raisers

If you do a raffle, check on your state laws. I am the PTO President at a school in TN and you have to put in an application a year in advance. If you are 501©(3) might want to check out grants from your local utilities; our electric and natural gas company have given us funds in the past. I...

    Info from bank

Do you have more than $100,000.00? FDIC only insures individual accounts for up to $100,000. If it is in a trust I believe you are good up to $250,000. Both are per person so if you are married you can seperate the monies for more coverage.

    Economy question

The problem with trying to appraise the defaulted mortgages is that and this is what caused the problem we can not value them. They have been sliced and diced, no thanks to the creator Secretary Paulson. These mortgages are actually owned in fractional percentages by many many banks. The...

    Obamas ties

Tagalong - Thanks for putting up the link to FactCheck; I was just about to do that. A gentleman I work with is always saying things he has heard about Obama and I just say, "We'll see." I don't like to talk about religion or politics and sometimes sports at the office. Well he sent me this...

    Economy question

Were to start...there is sooo much to comment on regarding your questions. This is my take. The "connection" or the global market was not a decision that countries made one day so it is not something they can undo. Much like the other economic evolutions, i.e., Industrial Revolution, it...

    Thinking of buying some Alpacas

We are having here in Lebanon a National Alpaca Farm Day and there is a farm close to my house. So I did a little (very little) research and I think I like them. I have read they are pretty easy on the pasture which is a plus having a drought for 2 years here in Lebanon. Not sure I totally...

    Has anyone been to Dollywood??

We were going to go, the kids are out for 2 weeks in the beginning of October, but then remembered that it is too chilly for the water rides. Go on the www.dollywood.com website and they have a deal for hotel plus tickets. We are still going but decided to do the Stampede Dinner and go into...

    Change in Direction

I was leaning that way and actually have been in contact with from what I heard is an excellent vet that keeps the guy overnight. After gelding what would be a decent price range for the southeast (TN) area?

    Change in Direction

Well ever since my filly dwarf was born a couple of months ago I have been mulling over my horse situation. Her sire was sold as a pet. I will be keeping the dam for quite a while; I am in no rush to wean. I have 3 others. A mare and her two offspring (different sires). The mare is up for...

    Dwarfs and genetics???

That's why I don't understand why the registries don't step up and let owners (I can't say mandate) have the foals registered with this information. Information is a powerful thing. My mare (Patton's Ebony) just had a dwarf with my stallion (Tenkans Iceman). I wish I could have researched to...

    introducing green new hay

For allergies I can not say enough about a nose bidet or nettie pot. It cleans out your sinuses and helps if you take a nasal spray. I gave mine a week to get used to the new grass and they did fine.

Back from the LK Heritage Sale

Belinda - Was the red/white mare with colt the one that won the dinner derby? I won a drink on that pair; didn't put up any cash.

Back from the LK Heritage Sale

I wrote down the first 10 and then just enjoyed. I know they were all under $5,000; a couple just over $2,000. Before I stopped writing them down a colt went for $9,7000 I believe.

    Pasture Question

Our answer here in Middle TN have been answered. We have had a great spring with plenty of rain. They just finished the first cutting of hay. I mowed my pastures about 3 weeks ago and I am amazed how quick it is growing back. I let my gang slowly get use to the pasture and they pretty much...

Back from the LK Heritage Sale

Girls weekend was terrific. Took my friend, daughter and her friend from Lebanon, TN up to Madison, IN. Never been to the Heritage sale and was so thrilled to get to go to the last. With all those minis I can't see how it could be the last. With all the work they put into it I could see it...

Breeding a mare after foaling a dwarf

I too had a dwarf this spring and will not breed Ebony again. I also am not breeding my stallion again. He went to a pet family; they are going to geld him and use him to drive. Remember it takes two.
