Accessories For Sale Sligo Stick for sale

I'm in Auburn, WA. I have a rarely used Sligo Stick I'd like to sell to someone, but don't want to have to have it shipped. I'm asking $50 and can drive up to an hour to meet someone. I will clean it up, it's been sitting in a corner of my feed room for several years.

    Lucy's tumor

I am sad to say Lucy did not recover. She was humanely euthanized last night. This has been a heartbreaking week for me.

    Possible to chop hay?

I am really interested in this, since a majority of my horses are seniors and sooner or later won't be able to chew the hay very well!

    Lucy's tumor

The vet called with bad news--Lucy has developed enteritis. She's treating it aggressively and will call me later, but because of her age she may not recover.

    Lucy's tumor

Thank you for your kind words. The holes they leave in your heart when they pass gets filled up with all the wonderful memories. Lucy had a hard time yesterday--she didn't eat and pass any manure. She needed some extra fluids to get her going again, and she's doing better today.

pirit heated hose or other types...

Oh, I don't drain my heated hose. It doesn't freeze if you leave it plugged in.

    Lucy's tumor

Lucy is a chestnut. She's 26 years old. I will be happy with any extra time she gets! Her surgery was done with local anesthesia while she was standing tranquilized. It took a bit over 2 hours, since there were actually 2 large tumors and several small ones. She stays at the clinic a few...

    Lucy's tumor

One of my minis, Lucy, has a squamous cell carcinoma. She goes to the clinic tonight, and has surgery in the morning. It's on her vulva (ouch). She'll be there for five days. Has anyone else had a horse with this? My vet said that once it's removed the prognosis is very good.

pirit heated hose or other types...

I have a heated hose, and I love it! I leave it plugged in and hooked up to a spigot in the barn all winter long. I also have a heated bag for hoses-- http://www.doversaddlery.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_X1-27167 I put my coiled hose in this. I hang it in the aisleway of my barn.

    Finding info about adopted horse

I just adopted her three weeks ago, from Pierce County Animal Control. Here's the page of horses that they had at the time. She's the brown and white pinto called Sara. http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/pc/abtus/ourorg/aud/horses.htm

    Finding info about adopted horse

She was offered for adoption with no papers, or details about the seizure. There were a number of minis seized by Pierce County Humane Society in WA State. My vet thinks she's around ten or eleven years old. She is also pregnant. Should I get a photo to post here?

    Finding info about adopted horse

I recently adopted a mini from a local Humane Society. They did not divulge any background on her, except for her age (which the vet said wasn't correct anyway). She looks almost exactly like one of my horses--her pinto markings are almost identical! I would like to find out more about her...

    GELDING OLDER STALLIONS

Sorry to dredge up this old thread, but I've been considering gelding my 19 year old stallion and wanted to get some info. This past spring I had an appointment to have it done, but my vet scared me so much with all the talk of complications! So I put it off. But he's always lonely. He can't...

    building a new shelter

Well, with all our rain and flooding we haven't had time to make something nice or buy something yet, so we made a temporary shelter with hog panels and a tarp. It looks like a mini quonset hut. He goes right in it so it will do for now. We have to focus our attention and money on the bridge...

    building a new shelter

Is this the rubbermaid one you are talking about, evedex? Where did you purchase yours? About how much was it? http://www.rubbermaid.com/hpd/consumer/bigMax/BigMax.jhtml

    building a new shelter

Thanks for the plans. I made some shelters like those goat shelters at my old place. They worked fine for one horse, and were portable so we could move them from place to place. My bigger minis didn't use them, though. I'm sure they could be made bigger. Perhaps I'll do something along...

    building a new shelter

Thanks, guys. I'll certainly try that search, Marty, good to hear from you! I've been quite a stranger here. Farmhand, your shelter is really nice! I hope mine will turn out as well.

    building a new shelter

I need to build a shelter big enough for one mini. I prefer wood. Anyone have any ready-made plans, or dimensions?
