Ok thats good news. I plan on keeping her turned loose and not up in the pen anymore. she runs really fast and seems to be fine then but when she starts grazing it draggs from most of the time. Fingers crossed that it heals she my first and only foal...and such a angel
I slowly noticed her having issues with one of her rear legs. Vet says its alocked stiffle she drags it a bit and then it will work and she can use it. She doesnt have issues when shes running like a crazy horse though. Vet recommended running her and backing her up to work it. Anyone have...
Lily and Harmony are doing wonderful. Ill try and get pictures this weekend now that the rain has finally stopped. Harmony is a ball of energy. Her newest thing is to run up to me and then put her front legs up on my legs (like a dog would do to greet you). Its cute but I know I have to stop...
forgot to mention Lily is all healed up. No discharge or any issues from all the tears. Farrier came back out today and trimmed Harmonys back hooves just a tiny bit cause they were just a bit long. Lily is a great mom with lots of patience.
Okay Here are updated pictures of Harmony. She is 10 days old already...wow seems liek she was just born yesterday. She is by no means a follow mommy baby...mommy has to folllow her she runs wild like a racehorse through the yard.
Oh Ben She is beautiful!!!! Congratulations on the filly! Glad it went easy and safely and baby and momma are doing good! Now you can enjoy some rest as well
sounds close...lilys went from yellow and sticky to a clear maybe slighty cloudy watery substance about 2 days before she foaled. So thats a good sign...maybe mary will progress faster since she has done this before
Okay so Heres my 1 and only foal. You guys were awesome and such a big help to a newbie! Lily my maiden mare foaled on Mother's Day 5/13/2012 to Harmony a palimino pinto filly! Thanks for all that you all do!!!!
Ok so Im back home and Lily and Harmony are doing great, I dont see any limping anymore huge relief there! Shes running around like a crazy horse. Shes figured out the routine for going back in the pen so now I have to catch her and carry her in...she wont follow mom in anymore. Smart girl...
Mary...I cam eon here looking for foal pictures......you must have been waiting for me to get back in town. OK Im home so you can foal tonight Lets go your driving your daddy crazy! Dont wait as long as lily did.
A racehorse describes her best. Nothing stops her. She darts all over the place. Lily yells for her and she keeps running. Just like a kid! Shes actually mad at me tonight because I wouldnt let her back out....I want her to rest that leg some to see if it improves. The sitter will be staying...
