TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Twas the night before Christmas and the presents were ready
Santa was setting alone in his study
When in walks Rudolph with news that would shatter
The night like a knife and cause such a clatter
Oh Santa said Rudolph what are we to do
You see all the reindeer have come down with the flu
The whole team is couging and their noses are red,
They just lay in the stable and are holding their heads
Oh goodness said Santa I need my team well,
Call all the elves, Rudolph go ring the big bell
We need some ideas to get the sleigh flying
Children are waiting we can't leave them crying
With the elves in a meeting and everyone talking
All of a sudden they heard someone knocking
Then banging and clanging and then a small whinny
Then they heard hooves pawing way up by the chimney
They all hurried over and threw open the door,
It's so nice to meet you have we met before?
For standing so proud all harnessed up
Was a small little horse so full of himself
We're here to help you. We'll pull your sleigh
Just give us some apples, carrots and hay
We've all talked it over and we'll get you thru
This special night with all you must do
We have the time to come down from the ridge,
We spend our days playing on the Rainbow Bridge
We miss the children, the laughter and hugs
The sweet little faces, and even their tugs
Don't you see Santa we have earned our wings
Now we can use them for wonderful things
We will fly over the rooftops and paw in the snow
We will take you where ever your gifts need to go
See Santa Blue Boy is doing his prance
Oh Santa please won't you give us this chance
So off they all flew pulling that beautiful sleigh
All laughing and snorting, having fun on the way
So when you think you hear hoofbeats so tiny and quick
Some laughter and whinnys it could be St Nick
With his new team of minis who have found their own way
To say Merry Christmas and have a GREAT DAY!
