What is the difference to dewormers (paste)?

Yes, we do here. Two to four times yearly with paste, and daily dewormer. My horses have done so well on this program! I wouldn't say that it is a replacement for paste, but rather a way to keep the parasite load at bay between somewhat less frequent paste dewormers. I don't know if it is available world-wide, but we also have all of our minis on Preventicare, which provides insurance coverage in case of colic, it is free enrollment if you buy the Strongid C through your vet. Great program!
