I will be soon reseeding some pastures as I am sure a lot of others will

be doing as well. What type seed do you use on your pastures?

I recently bought some seed for one field the other day and I bought

ladino, orchard grass and annual ryegrass. I still have two more fields

to seed and was wanting others opinions.

Thanks.

We've just gotten "pasture-mix" seeds from our local farm store when we've re-seeded, and I can't remember just what was in them. A mix of several different kinds is good, since they each tend to do better in slightly different conditions (what I've been told and read anyway).

Just stay away from fescue, and any of the rest may just depend on your location, etc. Have fun re-seeding!

We also use the pasture-mix which we purchase from a local nursery. It has brome grass, bluegrass, rye grass, and a non-endophyte fescue, and small percentages of other grasses. We will sow by hand on the snow in spring, and then use a small disk for our garden tractor to seed later in the summer. Works well, and we always have a good stand of grasses.
