It's official. I've been at Mercy Medical Center as a critical care flight paramedic specialist for exactly one year. I had worked for another company prior to transferring to Mercy, but this is such a great place with great staff. My office is a EuroCopter (EC) 135 and we average roughly 800 medical missions each year (although it's been busier this year than last). We had our staff group photos taken last month and they were just published. The second photo is of myself and one of my regular partners, Micky.

You're such a good person and always willing to help others. It's no wonder to me that you'd have such a critical, serving job too.

It helps that I still get excited to go to work........I guess that means I'm in the right profession huh?

Love it! Sounds like you are definitely in the right profession

Thanks for sharing your staff photo.

As some one whose husband was air lifted to Pitt Trauma Center in NC just last month, I wish to tell you how very much your work means. Standing there, watching them lift off, I was so thankful for the brave crews and teams that take risks each and every time they fly. Just to help save lives. Please, know from the bottom of my heart, how important you are. And how thankful the families and friends of the patients you care for are.

You may never get to talk to us, but I bet I am not the only one on the ground, who always says a prayer for safe flight when I see one of you overhead as you go about your work.

Thanks for all you do!

I can't think of anyone in this field who doesn't LOVE their job. It's always nice to hear nice words - we often don't get that opportunity (nor do the patient families). I would love to hear any stories of your experiences with air transport.
