Just read on another thread the suggestion of using a bit of liquified ginger for colic (being an old remedy) and that brought back a memory from 50 years ago.
My first horse, ancient mare saved from the knackery etc, suffered colic at times. We'd get the local racehorse owner and he would send me and by brother inside and do something with an onion. Never actually knew what he did with the onion (I can guess) but it always worked.
Just thought I'd share................................don't try this at home!
