Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down

At Lowe's the word Christmas was no where to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace.

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS, not Happy Holiday!

Some do feel their Christmas is taken away but I truly believe it is something that can't be taken away unless we let it. Any person who wants to pray can do it and no one can stop them from it...we are not helpless in these matters. It can be done in complete silence without anyone even knowing it. As long as there is good will and fellings in what we do or don't do, that is what counts. We know this is the time of year that Christmas is celebrated but what many forget is that it is about the celebration of Christ's birth. JMHO

It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival. Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of your Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. I just have to say that I come from a multi faith background and up bringing, we celebrate christmas at home but I have many friends that celebrate another holiday during this season. I say merry x mas, they say happy hanukkah, we say happy holidays as well. We dont force each others celebrations upon each other, but we always find our difference interesting and are always willing to learn. Thats what makes this time so special. I couldnt care less if we didnt celebrate any sort of religious aspect. Its about the good company, good times, peace and happiness. We should all feel fortunate to have the family and friends that surround us during this time of year. I try to forget about what other people say, just do what feels best yourself, family and loved ones!

Canada and the US are countries of immigrants. Unless you are a First Nation's person you/or your family immigrated here; christianity, I can assure you, was not the dominant religion in North America 200 years ago. I am a first generation Canadian. I respect all religions and beliefs; there are a multitude in our countries. Why should the christian way of belief in schools be the only one....and if not all, then none I say. Pray and believe in what you want to outside of school and with your families. By the way, I was raised Anglican. Merry Christmas!

I refuse to say the words Happy Holidays! It is Christmas! Celebrating the birth of Christ. I am so sick of political correctness! I was born with spina fida. I use a wheelchair. I don't care if I am disabled, handicapped, crippled or what ever! Who cares!

I refuse to buy anything that says Happy Holidays also. If some one wants to say Happy Hannukah or whatever to me, go ahead. Won't bother me! I have bigger things to worry about in my life than getting my feelings hurt everytime some one says something that might be incorrect! Life is not perfect and making it politically correct is certainly going to help that! Face it!.

It's always been puzzling to me--if folks aren't celebrating Christ-mas--why participate in this particular day? What exactly are they celebrating? shrug Although, I agree it's not the exact day of our Savior's birth--but it symbolizes that--in love.

Well there are a number of holidays that fall in this timeframe. I know so many people from diverse backgrounds that all warm wishes are welcome.......and heck alot of people have their birthday on the 25th of December so even happy birthday isn't out of order

Exactly right!!!! Growing up, some of my closest family friends (then and now) were/are Jewish. Therefore something I've been aware of all my life is that that it's not just Christmas "time".
