Anyone make their own show halters? I am going to buy a nice quality one ( Victor) for my mare and gelding but Im not about to spend 100 + on a Foal halter Since Im not a breeder it wont be used more than 13 times haha. Anyways ; I think I could figure out how to make one but I just dont get what materials you use and where to get them?? Like biothane? I know wire is under it.. but where on earth do you get it and when you roll it around the wire how do you seal it

Ive not made a show halter but Ive assembled lots of cable. you can buy your cable at a hardware store and pick up the farrels to match the cable size. they also sell a crimper to install the farrels. I got mine at Orchard Supply but they also sell them at tractor supply and most hardware stores.the rest is just rings, beads, chain, tubing, etc... take your current halter with you and it will make more sence. DR.
