This Crappy

thing is keeping our barn from flooding at the moment

Poor Jerry ...I did help though ... a little

Donkeys are doing ok and are loving the extra attention
default_wub.png

they still have higher ground and if it is not worse than last year they will be fine

I'll keep you posted if we don't lose power.

I am really starting to not like it here....I love it here and have been here since I was 19. This property I am living on now..... floods
default_no.gif
We have been here since Sep 1999

Every year the flooding has gotten worse.

Nikki ... I thank you so much for the welcome
default_yes.gif
....but? you have far worse Winters than we do
default_yes.gif

BIG time !!!

default_no.gif
I feel bad for you!!

I hope things dry up soon

default_wub.png

We had lots of pretty snow earlier today and it is raining now.....our basement is the only thing that floods!

Teri, I sure hope it dries up there soon too. What is the outlook for the next few days?

I like what you've done with your donkey poop, and it's serving you well during the flood
default_yes.gif

Well...the poop berm is holding its own
default_yes.gif

The water came up more over the night and was lapping at the and berm this morn it almost looks like it might be receding. The rivers crested at mid morning here which means the flooding won't get any worse for the time being
default_aktion033.gif

We are just concerned about a dike up the street that failed last year as it is almost over its banks.

Our basement has been pumping the water out and keeping up with it
default_yes.gif

We're ok
default_biggrin.png
the lights are on and the house is warm. so many families are far worse ... we can't complain.

The Donkeys and Tom are OK
default_smile.png
we worried about Tom during the night as the water was close to his enclosure. lol..he is a survivor...remember he stayed on his perch for 3 days last flood.

* the rain is suppose to let up in the next 24 hrs and I think sunny on Thursday

Glad to hear you're all hanging in there okay so far.
default_aktion033.gif
It all looks so awful on the news
default_no.gif

Keep us posted when you can, and will be thinking good, DRY thoughts for you

I was wondering how Tom was taking all the rain.

I know Wally's probably NOT happy about all of the rain/water.
default_no.gif
He even had to do a little swimming to get out of the barn last year didn't he? I've never seen a goat swim but I'm sure the good Lord instilled it in them how to. Just knowing how much they hate water though... I know he didn't like it at all..

I sure wish I was close enough to help you and Jer out!

yikes and i thought WE had a lot of water! it rained here for about 2 days straight but thankfully not HARD like it has before. we get a river from the northwest to southwest corner of our property, but it DOES go on by... and the house is UP so no flooding
default_aktion033.gif

take care you all!!!

Send some rain and snow our way! We need it really, really badly.

))

The water is sloooowwwwlllyyyy receding
default_aktion033.gif
and I don't think I heard it rain last night.

We have a Duck family in our seasonal Lake .... strange but? everything almost looks normal. A lake would be nice ...too bad it takes up so much land.

We have a neighbor that wants to dig a retention pond in the pasture ....But, I can't imagine a HUGE hole in the pasture for the rest of the year...no way!

we just need to move
