Is there anyway I can look up the color of my mare's dam? I know her name and her registry number (AMHA). On my mare's papers it says her dam is DNA tested...what does that mean? Her sire is also DNA tested. I remember seeing her dam the day we visited her before she was weaned and she was solid white...but I'm not 100% sure if her nose and body had some black speckles or not. So she was either grey or some form of appoloosa. I guess that was just some extra info right there haha, but is there a way I can look her up? I tried allbreedpedigree and she was not on there. Thanks!

You can check the AMHA Studbook Online. You have to have a subscription to it or get someone to check it for you. It may or may not help you with the color. They are notorious for having wrong colors listed.

Ok, thanks! Do you know of anyone who already has a subscription?

the dna tests done for the AMHA are ot colour related , its done to verify parentage / offspring
