All I could find where the ph strips. I this right? How do you use these things? And what reading should she be ready? I have been watching my two mares for over a month. I don't know the breeding dates, but they should go anytime now, just trying to learn a new trick I saw on here. I'm waiting for mini mules!! Thanks, Susan.

On the ones I have, the pH drops to the bottom square (lowest reading) right before foaling.

The hardness goes up to the highest reading if you have that, too.

Hope this helps!

you have to mix the milk with distilled water then put the strip in and take out. go to scottcreek.com and the directions and measurements are on there

The Ph test is a little more sensitive than the water hardness test.

The ratio is 6 to 1. So that would be 3cc's of distilled water to a 1/2 cc of the mother's milk. Mix, dip the strip, shake off the excess, count to 10, and read.
