I understand that the book version of the Almanac has different dates from the online version. Can anyone with a book tell me the best dates to geld in Oct., Nov, and December? We have several that we want to have done and I'll ONLY do it by the moon. I've had much success doing it that way in the past, and weaning as well. I just weaned 2 fillies by the Almanac dates and the mares were nearly dry after only 3 days. Very little screaming for momma and no one went off their feed or got "stupid" about it.

Thanks for your help!

Pat

The Farmer's Almanac I have is a free version I got from a local car dealership (just in case there might be any difference).

It says for castrating dates (weaning dates happen to be the same):

Oct 1-3 and 23-31

Nov 19-27

Dec 16-24
