I'm really trying to avoid racking up more doctors bills. I think I may have damaged my rotator cuff or some ligament thereabouts (compensating/protecting the ribs) last week while lunging ponies and cleaning up downed trees. Darrin is nagging me to go the the doctor because it's no better, but I don't think it's necessary just yet.

Has anyone ever had this type of injury? Did the RICE plan take care of it? There's really nothing more a doctor can do right?

And what's up with this anyway? I never get big injuries and this is the 2nd this summer. Is this an age thing, cause I'm not liking this trend one bit.

I did "something" to my arm and shoulder, back, and Oh well, just shoot me- during foaling.

I did go to about five doctors (that is all the doctors in the Practise) coz it's free here(!!!

!!!) and they all did different things but gave me some serious painkillers.

Debs (Dimimore) sorted it more than any of them with some serious Reiki, so I would definitely look into that.

I am STILL going for test because whilst they were trying to find out what was wrong they discovered I had M.E - Now please bear in mind I have had it for nearly twenty years BUT the Doctors do not believe in it so what happened was the tests have discovered ALL the various symptoms one by one.

I am due to see a Neurologist (again) in a little while.

Hey, as I said, it's free- I think I'm having a Cat scan as well.

What do I care??

Get some Reiki and put it up in a sling for now, that will give you time to think about it.

If you HAVE to go to the doctor you have to go, but stop any possible damage being done in the meantime.

Good Luck

Thank you for that lovely testimonial Jane dear,

: when I see posts like this I pause and say should I offer or will it seem selfserving to offer my Reiki. Go to my website, read the Reiki page, I can and have helped others, my fees are very reasonable, there are many of us here who do Reiki. It is a pwerful and effective alternative method of pain management and healing. Feel free to PM me or use my other email. Debs

You really need to get an MRI. Is the only way to tell what kind of damage has been done. And until you know... it will be very hard to know the best plan of action to get it to heal.

My Hubby messed his shoulder up bad. After almost a year of just.. living with it. Found out he totally tore off the muscle from his neck to his shoulder joint. Nothing we would of done can fix that.

I hope you are able to go to the Doc and find out.

Hope you heal fast!

Oh, you poor thing...I am at the tail end of a rotator cuff injury. IT HURTS!!!!!

I did go to my doctor who sent me to physical therapy. He said if there was no improvement within 6-8 weeks, then we would do an MRI, etc. I have been in physical therapy for 5 weeks (twice a week) with one more week left and then I'm done, but I do have home exercises that I have to do 4x/day (not easy between the day job, horses, etc. but necessary).

In physical therapy we have been doing ultra-sound, ice therapy, stretches and exercises. I'm also taking Aleve, which really seems to help. In my case, the exercises and stretches have been wonderful and I have almost complete use of my shoulder again! But it really depends on the level of your injury as to what is best for you.

Probably should see your doctor, and then start the exercises once you are healed.

I had a nasty ill tempered boarder horse break my shoulder about

an inch below where the shoulder rounds off.

They sent me to a specialist who did the MRI & told me if I didn't have

surgery I'd loose complete use of my arm.

Ha! I told him he have to run pretty fast to catch me, that he under

estimated my will power. I did physcial therapy for a bit, did the icing,

Aspirin, kept it in a sling till the pain was tolerable.

Then went back to cleaning stalls, running up and down the stairs to the hayloft,

carrying water buckets, you know the drill. I got total use of the arm back.

I will tell you, however, between my neck I broke falling off a horse 20 years

ago and my broken shoulder, I am the best weather forecaster around, much

better than any of those guys on TV, that make the big bucks.

Some winters, if it's real cold I wonder if maybe that doctor was right but I baby it

for awhile and it goes back to being OK.
