Commercials -- Funny, Annoying, Sad...

When it comes to commercials, there are some that are really funny, a lot that are totally annoying, and some that make me want to cry.

Naturally, this morning, I can't think of the really funny ones....

Some of the ones that are totally annoying to me is one I see now for Giant grocery store's selection of drinks. It's a cranberry juice bottle w/ an annoying accent talking to some bottled water about being offered a glass of champagne at a party and being offended (the angle is "pure drinks"). URGH.

Another one may be local to my region but there's a series of commercials for "The Room Store" with a really irritating actress w/ red hair and grating voice. The commercials are hokey and the actress is just real irritating. Especially to me as she reminds me of an awful assistant I had who quit about 10 minutes before I could fire her (phew -- that was luck!).

One that is like a fist to my heart is this Pedigree dog food one about shelter dogs. It's a dog talking and saying he doesn't know what he did to end up in the shelter, but he knows he is a good dog. That one makes me tear up.

The ones that have been really grating on my nerves lately are the Geico caveman ads. :ugh:

I can't think of any that I like, oh, I like the one with the puppies at camp; at think it for Advantage flea and tick spot on. They are singing about no bugs on me, its too cute.

I was watching Budweiser commercials on YouTube a while back and found this one. I'd never actually seen the commercial on TV, but it sure tore at my heart strings to watch it. I still get teary-eyed watching it.

Some older commercials that used to annoy us to no end were the old Discovery.com commercials. My girls would walk around the house going "Buzz buzz buzz, Hello Mosquito!"

Annoying:

Sad:

Those comercials on animal planet, there is one with 'arms of an angel' (or something like that lol) in the background and it shows all the abused or neglected animals. Dont know if its a comercial but everytime i watch animal planet its on atleast once.

Cannot think of any funny ones at the moment.

Steph, that commercial was very heartwarming...even if it was sponsored by Budweiser! It made me cry!

I still vote for the Dr. Pepper commercial with the guy and girl, playing the song I will do anything for you...and he does, but he won't share his Dr. Pepper!

There is a new upgrade cable type one on also, where they rub magic stuff on a pretty hefty guy and he turns all buff, that one is kind of cute.

I am kinda tired of happy bob and his male enzyme commercial though!

Jill.....that shelter dog commercial makes me tear up everytime I see it!! It makes you want to take all the unwanted animals home. Hate the redhaired lady on the Room Store commercials too!!!

Steph.....I've never seen that Budweiser commercial on TV either. Just watched it and it made me bawl!!!

Today must be a teary kind of day. The following Bud commercial made me tear up too!!

There are too many annoying commercials imo!! I tend to miss good ones, because I just tune out ALL commercials! :bgrin

I love all the Budweiser Clydesdale commercials.

Also, the military commercial just tore me up. That's a great tribute.

Oh my gosh Kathryn, that commercial is hilarious!!!

Those stupid Enzyte commercials are really annoying "This is Bob". And it makes it worse that they ALWAYS show 2 in a row

YAYYYYYY I love Bob,,,yay! If I am in the house and I hear the "Bob" music I have to yell''' Yay Bob!" Family loves that. Can you imagine when we were kids ( for me that would be 35 years ago,) and a commercial for erectile dysfunction came on??? I would have died. Now it is so common place.

And another I LOVE is a boy comes in and interrupts his Mom as she is talking to her friend,,, says something like "Look at the dogs new trick Mom". Cuts to a yellow lab coming in dragging his behind on the carpet!!! The Mom screams, "make it stop TOBY!!!! " HeeHee, it is a Stanley Steamer carpet cleaner commercial.

And I used to love the Honda Element commercial with the crab and he says " I peench,,, or I pinch" Very cute!!!!

I think car dealership's have the worst commercials ever. They always have someone that works for them dressed crazy with a funky hat on their head and they always look like they were filmed on a cameria from wal-mart. There is a dealership in Teledo that is always on TV in the morning and it has the worst quality of video i have ever seen, our family reunions are filmed better then that thing, and in the background they have a guy dancing around dressed like an indian. Whats the point?

ahaha that shout commercial. the lady chucks her washing machine out the window, then one person's walking on the side walk and is like "i gotta tell her about shout"

and carfax history report. totalled car, advertised as "slight bumper damage" then they erase that and write new paint. lol."never buy a car without a cafax history report"

and any commercial for mythbusters is funny.

Oh my gosh, the one that gets to me every time is the puppy commercial about fleas........ it's like the dogs are all at camp...and it's a twisted tune.....in other words they used a song (camp song I guess) and the puppies are running around while a voice is singing about not having fleas on me?........ I know I am not doing the commercial any justice..... but I remember my whenever I was talking with my Mom on the phone & that commercial came on, she always mentioned how cute it was.....so everytime I see the commerical I think of my Mom and it's bittersweet!

I have to say my least favorite is the stupid caveman commercials.....and not because I work for a competitor....it's just so stupid!!

Oh and anything for pms or female "monthly" products.......honestly, what woman actually likes these commercials?

I remember when the first Viagra commercial came on up here (I think I was watching hockey with my Mom), and Mom and I just looked at each other and keeled over laughing!!! lmao It was toooo funny....

I can't stand the feminine product commercials....stupid, stupid, stupid period!! :lol: 'Have a happy period' LOL yeah, I'll get right on that!!

One of the pregnancy tests(more recent one) that actually said the word pee in it..... then the next time I heard it they made a clearing of the throat noise where the word pee was supposed to be.....

Oh my gosh, that Happy period commercial reminds me of when Ken & I were watching TV and that stupid commercial came on .......and I heard "have a happy period"...I went, Uh, pluuuuuzz.....there is no such thing.... Ken goes, what are you talking about? I said the pad commercial....there isn't a happy period. He goes, that is what that was for? I said, OMG, what did you think that Always commercial was touting? He goes, I thought it was a cleaning product. :bgrin I just about fell off the couch laughing.... I said, so if I asked you to go to the store & look for those, ...he goes, I would head to the cleaning aisle. Men.

One I don't like is.. a credit card (like debit card) ad. Snappy music and people are whirling around grabbing their coffee, plants, food or what ever in a production line fashion and tapping their cards to the machine at check out. But one person goes to pay with cash or a check and...the music stops and everyone gives that person a dirty look and they are made to feel like crap. It rubs me the wrong way. I'm a non conformist and don't like anyone looking down on anyone for being different. It's like if you don't do as everyone else does, you don't belong and are less than they are.

I like the puppies at camp!

The ones I HATE is anyone that yells at you to buy stuff. Billy Mays! I will never buy the stuff he sells until he stops yelling.

OK, so I'm a sap...I normally don't like commercials, but I DO like the A&W one where they "break the news" of their expecting a baby, by ordering a "Grandpa Burger" instead of a Papa Burger. LOL!
