I am waiting on result for dun onJewel, she shows the dorsal stripe but it looks like it could be countershading too. Now that I clipped her head again for summer she finally shows buckskin coloring. She genetically is a buckskin tobiano, but now we notice dapples coming in on her side. No silver in there, sire is grullo pinto and dam is bay pinto being tested for sabino 1 as well. I read somewhere that dapples indicated something, was it buckskin?

Dapples could show up on any color horse. (I think) Sometimes they are just an indication that the horse is in very good health.

Dapples indicate good health and circulation my palomino, sooty buckskin, and silver dapple all have them.
