Just wondering which is the true color to put on registration applications. The clipped or unclipped color (if they are different)?

Also I notice a lot of people clip the head and necks but leave the rest wooly. Why do you do this? Just curious.

Since bays tend to clip out nearly black and palomino's clip out nearly white, I'd have to say that the unclipped color is more correct. As for the head and neck clip, people do this when it is still to cold to totally body clip but want to be able to show people that there really is a nice horse under all that hair without freezing it to death

Yeah, I would have to say that it is best to go with the un-clipped coat color for registration, since if you clip, say, a silver bay, it will turn into a different color entirely!
