This year has been the worst for starlings nesting in the overhangs of my barn. Of course, the mess is unbearable since I like to keep my barn clean.
Does anyone have suggestions of an inexpensive way to get rid of them? I have tried scouting them out and shooting them. I have put screens at the peaks to keep them out (they just squeeze between the the rafters and insulation to get to their nests). I have even hung heavy plastic at the door openings, just above the gates, to try to keep them out....again they just squeeze beteen the gates and the plastic. They are a smart and persistent bird.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
