Back from Area 1!!!

Wow, what a weekend.

It was a well-run show, sadly not as big as previous years, but the classes each day were over by 4 or 5 PM which was nice.

Thank you to judge Belinda Bagby, you had a lot of great horses to judge and it must have been a tiring three days.

It was sooo hot this weekend, and we had rain everyday (we stayed in a tent too haha

), but that didn't stop anyone!

We saw a lot of old friends, met some new ones, and had a good time chatting about horses. I saw barnbum, mercy's mom, both girls from Maine (and their adorable australian shepherd pups!

) and several others. Everyone had a great smile on their face!!

We did well show-wise too. I haven't shown an Area show for a couple years, and I was darn proud of my boy, Zeus!

Halter Obstacle, Chantilly - 6

Youth Hunter Under, Zeus - 3rd (first time having a clear round in hunter too! Just need to work on keeping him at a trot after jumps)

Youth Jumper Under, Zeus - 2nd (Clean round both times. I just couldn't run faster than Matthew Wilson)

Youth Showmanship Under, Zeus - 3rd. (He was being a major pain in the bum. I'm suprised we placed so well)

Youth Showmanship Over, Chantilly - 6th (Soo, I was asked where the Gaskin is. HAHA. I took 4-H and everything and answered wrong. I'm dissapointed in myself. Chantilly was a good girl too)

Amateur Senior Geldings, Zeus (Mom showed) 2nd

Youth Senior Geldings, Zeus -1st

Open Senior Geldings, Zeus - 1st

Senior Gelding Championship - Champion

Grand Champion Gelding Under- Reserve Grand (Under a nice McCarthy horse!!!)

Youth Western Country Pleasure, Chantilly - 2nd

Amateur Senior Mares - 5th

Youth Senior Mares- 6th

I've decided to retire Chantilly from big shows after this year. I think its time for her to have a baby =)

Karla, I'm not sure who I am gonna breed her to. I may breed her to my stallion but not sure. We'll see. It won't be until next year

My Gelding and I made it into your Showmanship pictures! I was right beside of you on the left. Haha, I remember some bites happening during that class but don't worry you still did really well!! And in the Over division that question stumped me as well...I think we all have some horse anatomy to study up on
