My hay guy has a old Buena Vista 317 plantation saddle, in great shape, he wants to sell it and I have no idea what it is worth. Anyone know where I can find out?

Buena Vista saddles are top of the line plantaion saddles designed esp for gaited horses. I would suggest checking out ebay for some price ideas but in good shape it is worth minimum a couple hundred it it is indeed a buena vista.
