What a pleasant surprise I had 2 evenings ago. Walked out to the barn to work with one of my colts and there was my Appy mare standing in her stall with a newborn filly. She was ot due till the first week of June.

Congrats, very nice filly. Now wish my mares would foal. They are all pasture bred so who knows when they will foal. Thought 2 were due in April as they foaled last year in May and thought they may have been bred on their foaling heat but nope still waiting. One mare is starting to make a small bag, the other my vet doesn't think is in foal but I am still keeping an eye on her just in case the vet is wrong. He didn't palpate her or do a ultrasound. His hands are way to big for these little ones.
