I was thinking about it, and I can't recall ever seeing an appaloosa shetland in my lifetime. I myself don't know too much about shetlands, and I would very much appreciate it if someone could answer my question.

Is it possible for there to be an appy shetland?

Afraid not. Appaloosa is the only color that is not allowed, nor present in the gene pool.

Quick edit to add that I don't believe I've heard of Champagne being present either.

For ASPC registration appaloosas is not acceptable for registration. Recognized shetland colors are albino, bay, black, brown, buckskin, chestnut, cremello, dun, grey, grullo, palomino, perlino, pinto (tobiano, overo, tovero, sabino), roan (bay, red, blue), silver dapple, sorrel, white.

Also please remember that ASPC is a blood registry not a height one so there is NO hardshipping into ASPC. Thats why there are no appaloosa colored Shetlands because they dont naturally occur in that breed.
