Founder in pregnant mare

Hi, a friend of mine has a mare of 250 + days gestation, the vet has diagnosed Laminitis / Founders.

Has anyone experienced this and can you advise?

Mare is having box rest and Flunixin Meglunine injection which she is reacting badly too.

any advice would be appreciated.

Several years ago we had a pregnant mare founder and the vet gave me styrafoam padding that I cut and duct tapped to her feet. I wasn't to give her grain at all, just a chopped hay product named safe starch by the handful and of course small amounts of hay. Banamine paste twice a day for three days. Once she felt better I could take her out and hand walk her, she is fine now, and has been for years, but is now only on dry lot. I wish your friend luck and a good outcome like I had.
