my boy has some kind of fungal skin thing that has been there for a long time it is basically a big scab. I have tried putting toohtpaste on it (someone recommended that) i was wondering if a generic antifungal cream might help?

I use the generic Tinactin. Read the labels and make sure it is the same strength, ingredient, etc, but yes it is fine and works great.

If you can get the scab softened by washing it with say a diluted betadine scrub or Nolvasan scrub and work to get the scab off you will have better success with the cream and it wont take as long to heal.

I had a colt come in that I treated for about 4 months to get rid of his.

I rotated the Nolvasan, Betadine and cream. That is what my vet suggested.
