    Clipper Help Please

I tried covering her up with her full coat and she about rubbed the barn down. Her coat runs forward, not backward so I think the blanket on top of it rubs it the wrong way. Not to mention how fast she'll overheat. She's not rubbing her mane, but putting her head through the fence to talk to the...

    Clipper Help Please

The first show isn't until the beginning of May, however she's been putting her head through the fence and rubbing her mane out. If its going to be suitable for May I need to get a slinky and neck cover on her asap. I have another question, her coat has always been super fine. The clippers have...

    Clipper Help Please

I have an Andis body clipper and a small Wahl, so that's not an issue. I've never seen the plastic things either, but then I haven't looked. I didnt even think of doing a diff size for her body vs her neck but that makes perfect sense.

    Clipper Help Please

I'm a point and clip kinda girl when it comes to grooming the horses. I really don't have a real understanding of the blade sizes, why and where. Scenario: I have a mare that I want to clip in early March so that I can blanket her in preparation for her first year of showing. Its still COLD...

    Exotic pets

I've never heard of anyone else with a pet crow before. Hi! Neighbors of ours brought us a very young crow after her nest was blown into their arena during a storm. Her sibling did not survive the fall. Raising her was one of the greatest things Iv ever had the oppportunity to do. She was...

    Purina Strategy

I just have to throw out that Purina is now selling Strategy Healthy Edge which does have several differences from the 'classic' strategy.

    Looking for a neck cover

Drastic times call for drastic measures. Is it even possible to find a neck cover (NOT hood) in mini size? I swear these little ones will be the death of me.

    Color

Unless her sire was actually dun under all that app there's no way she's a dun. She also looks like a sabino throughout her coat however she doesn't have much face or leg white. Though for varnish its odd that she's not retaining dark points. Were either of her parents sabino? Id say she's a...

Idea's on making a slow feeder?

Thanks for your suggestions everyone! I think the slow feeder bag would work better if I could pay someone to stand out there and continually tighten it... its a typical hey net, as soon as enough has been removed to loosen net it all falls out. They quickly gorge on whats left and then they...

Idea's on making a slow feeder?

Long story... skip to the bolded for the gist. I am boarding a gelding for a friend. The horse has lost his mind since being locked in a small paddock 24/7 because of the weather (winter is definitely here in Minnesota!) In a very short period of time he has destroyed a supporting post of the...

Equine Floaters in the Wall Street Journal

I can tell you that equine dentists have done a h e double hockey sticks of a better job working on my horses teeth than the vet clinic, that is affiliated with the U, has ever done. Its just sad how much I was paying them to not do a thorough job. Though in my opinion its the same as a...

Feeding Hay in Pellet Form VS. Bale Form

I hope I am misunderstanding when I read hay pellet. Are we talking hay chopped very fine and compacted into small "pellets" or cubes? Pellets are NOT forage no matter what they are made off and cannot replace the function of hay for proper gut function.

    Measurment proposal

As a big horse person just peeking into the mini world I am really having a hard time why people are fighting the withers concept? There is a reason that the withers has been the standard among horsemen for hundreds of years, it is the one factor that wont change and is easy for the most green...

If You Were King or Queen for a Day of AMHR ...

Hear hear! I would do almost anything to get my mare in the books... Connie B, I had no idea there was not a championship for driving horses! That seems like twisted logic, how did it happen? You see how little I know about AMHR... lol

What is the earliest a filly could be bred and then

I bought a mare that was just turning three, she had a nine month old running at her side. Do the math and that puts her at concieving when she was about a year and a half. She also turned out to be a month pregnant again. I would not be comfortable with a filly being around a stallion after 6...
