Please could someone repeat the info/advice from last summer about hanging glass/plastic bottles, containing water, in doorways to deter flies? I'm sure I read about it somewhere!

Cheers - Anna

The one I know about is water and shiney copper pennies in a zip lock baggie to hang in the doorway. Hope that is the one you were thinking of..

I've used the water bottles - never heard of putting pennies in them - and it seemed to help. Just fill clear bottles or ziplock baggies and hang over doorways/windows into the barn. For some reason it seems to repel the flies.

Thanks for the replies. My barns are relatively fly free, it is just that the flies follow the horses when I bring them in. Will try the bottles in the doorways to see if it stop the flies from entering!
