We always suggest keeping it in a cool dry place. You can freeze it but make sure the moisture does not get in it for fear of molding. Also check the bottom of the bag to see when it was manufactured and try to get the freshest bag with the closest date which will be more current. Thank you for contacting Purina Mills.
Have a great day!!

I didn't know about the date on the bottom of the bag!! So glad she provided that information. So I think to keep moisture out I will try putting some in gallon size freezer bags and then in a tupperware type sealed container. Maybe others have other and better suggestions for how to freeze to keep moisture out.
