    Locked Patella Syndrome

Sally had that problem in one leg when she was pregnant. It went away after she foaled. Just mentioning it as a curiosity.

    Preggers or Fat????

A couple weeks ago, we were positive Petunia was pregnant, but now, I just don't know. Her udders have deflated back to nothing, and Hubby can't get any liquid out. He got a maternity stall ready for her. The vet will be coming for Sterling's six-month check-up. I'll have him look at her again...

    Looking for new friend

There is a rescue up here in Chino Valley that has minies and donkeys that are rescued from kill lots. I got my mini horse, Sally, and my mini donkey, Petunia, from there. It's called Now That I'm Safe Equine Rescue. They are on Facebook. We were there visiting yesterday.

I don't know how I missed this thread! Finn is ADORABLE!!!! Sterling is still shedding his baby fuzz. He is going to be clone of Sally except Sally has more Appy traits. He loves being cuddled and brushed. I need to start halter training him too. He is a very well-behaved boy, and Sally is a...

    Preggers or Fat????

We just checked Petunia again. Hubby says it was easy to get out, and there was a bunch. It was clear, thick, and sticky. She tested about 7.1 on the Maybe Baby test strips, but I have no idea if these work for donkeys. Neither does Maybe Baby :)

    Preggers or Fat????

Had a little surprise today. Her teats are back to looking like non-preggers teats, but when my husband was checking her, SHE STARTED SQUIRTING MILK! What the heck?

    Preggers or Fat????

Well, Petunia's udder is back to looking like nothing. We were hoping to have a surprise for my sister-in-law, but now I'm back to thinking she may just be fat.

    Questions about my mare

When we brought Sally home from the rescue, her skin was thick and wrinkly. The vet said it was from poor nutrition and would get better with a good diet. She's fine now. Prayers for your little beauty.

    Ready Now?

Just an update on Sterling: He got his feet trimmed for the second time yesterday and was a very good boy. He is the sweetest thing. I have cute videos of him, but I'm not able to upload them. He's only 3 1/2 months old and is 3/4 the size of Sally. Maybe we have a pony here. :)

    Preggers or Fat????

Thanks, Taz. I am actually in contact with the people who make the strips. They don't seem to know either :) . It seems like looking at the color of the milk is the ticket, but I won't do that since I don't want to lose any colostrum. Petunia would also need a much bigger bag before she is...
